Gates: Restricting IP rights is tantamount to communism.

An interview to good to pass up.

During the Microsoft anti-trust trial, we already saw Bill Gates as a man who is arrogant and a bit out of touch with reality. This interview, prior to his spectacular failure at CES, shows BG shouldn't be let of of his cage in Redmond without a PR flak by his side.

"I'd say that of the world's economies, there's more that believe in intellectual property today than ever. There are fewer communists in the world today than there were. There are some new modern-day sort of communists who want to get rid of the incentive for musicians and moviemakers and software makers under various guises. They don't think that those incentives should exist."

Of course, by Gate's definition, IBM is in the communist vanguard.
